College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario

The College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) regulates the profession of Respiratory Therapy in Ontario. It is not a teaching college but a self-governing body established by law to regulate the profession.

Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care

The ministry is responsible for administering the health care system and providing services to the Ontario public through such programs as health insurance, drug benefits, assistive devices, care for the mentally ill, long-term care, home care, community and public health, and health promotion and disease prevention. It also regulates hospitals and nursing homes, operates psychiatric hospitals and medical laboratories, and co-ordinates emergency health services.

The Lung Association: Ontario

The Lung Association is a registered charity that funds respiratory research, promotes better management of asthma, helps those with chronic lung disease, promotes a tobacco-free society and addresses the effects of air quality on lung health.

Canadian Lung Association

The Canadian Lung Association is the umbrella group for the ten provincial Lung Associations.

The Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists

The Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists (CSRT) is the national professional association for respiratory therapists.

  • Maintains a national professional standard of practice
  • Works with health organizations concerned with asthma, emphysema, smoking, and health care
  • Awards the internationally recognized RRT credential
  • Publishes the Canadian Journal of Respiratory Therapy

A national registered healthcare charity, operating within a "civil society" business structure. Over its 30-year history it has earned a reputation of providing good quality, credible asthma information and education to Canadians with asthma.

American Association for Respiratory Care

AARC’s mission is to advance the science, technology, ethics, and art of respiratory care through research and education for its members and to teach the general public about pulmonary health and disease prevention.

International Association for Hospice and Palliative Care

The IAHPC provides resources and programs for both patients and practitioners in the filed of Palliative care. They are a not for profit organization and work to ease pain and suffering from disease in projects throughout the world.
